Business Support Kent CiC, in short BSK-CiC, is a forward thinking bunch of 35 people: researchers, low carbon specialists, high growth coaches, international trade gurus, business start-up whizzes, funding experts and professional project managers. They are drawn together by our real world experience in business, collaborative spirit and desire for business to be fundamental in shaping a prosperous and healthy future.
As a community interest company (CiC) they are a social enterprise motivated by making a difference, as well as generating profits to return to our business community.
Over the last 16 years they have been able to work with 20,000 companies, using public and European funding, translating government policy on business growth into real business action. They are now able to offer this expertise to other organisations, helping them design, finance and deliver high impact, future focused support for businesses across Europe.
BSK have been involved in three 2 Seas Interreg IV A projects: Ecomind, Fusion and BBPE. All have focused on SMEs, either at a point of starting up or fully functional, with Ecomind focusing on sustainable design and eco tech companies and Fusion looking at how sustainablity is embedded within the life cycle of all companies.
BSK are currently partners in two Interreg IV B projects, one of which is focusing on the life cycle analysis of buidling products with a special focus on sustainable materials (CAP’EM).
Within the SAFE-ICE cluster BSK-CiC will, together with Kent City Council, coordinate the expert working group Market & Policy conditions, given their experience of businesses.
The expert working group Market & Policy conditions works across all the other expert working groups.
